Who publishes the guides
Plugin Solar Compare publishes these guides and operates the comparison service. The articles carry our organisation's name because they are not personal accounts from a named installer or a professionally signed-off design.
We use AI-assisted research and drafting. We check factual statements against linked sources and test the website, but that does not amount to independent electrical, structural or legal review. Company and operator details are available in our terms.
Sources, dates and examples
For rules we prioritise current government material and the relevant technical specification. For practical context we use identifiable first-party organisations, including Energy Saving Trust and consumer bodies. Source links sit beside the sections they support.
The publication date records when a guide first went live. Updated records a substantive revision; checked records the date of its source check. We do not move dates forward automatically to make old information look new.
Worked prices and fictional households are labelled as examples. They are not customer case studies, live supplier offers or personal savings forecasts. Photographs are credited and are not proof that a pictured product meets today's plug-in requirements.
Editorial content and paid listings
These guides do not sell editorial recommendations. A paid company profile is not a safety certificate or a reason to call a product the best. Read how matching and premium listings work for the separate comparison policy.
Before ordering, confirm the current product, price, coverage and conditions with the supplier. General guidance cannot inspect your socket, building or permissions. Use appropriate professional advice where the decision needs an assessment of your property.
Corrections
If you spot an error, send us the guide URL, the passage and a supporting source. Please do not include account passwords, payment details or other sensitive information. We will assess the correction and update the guide where necessary.
